MoPNG / GOBARdhan / POLICY UPDATE

A national framework
for renewable gas growth.

Launched on 1 October 2026, GOBARdhan brings offtake assurance, administered pricing, project assistance and gas connectivity under one Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas framework.

to FY 2035–36
Scheme implementation period
01 / OFFTAKE & DEMAND

A rising CBG obligation.

CGD procurement requirements for the CNG transport and domestic PNG segments rise from 3% in FY 2026–27 to 4% in FY 2027–28 and 5% from FY 2028–29.

02 / PRICING

₹2,110 per MMBtu.

The scheme introduces an administered CBG price. Settlement follows the applicable pricing framework and gas measurement basis; this is an energy-based price, not a fixed ₹/kg rate.

03 / PROJECT ASSISTANCE

Up to ₹2 crore per TPD.

Eligible greenfield projects may receive capital assistance, including support for plant equipment, feedstock aggregation and organic manure processing, subject to the scheme’s conditions.

04 / CONNECTIVITY & FINANCE

A wider support framework.

Pipeline infrastructure support, credit guarantees for eligible MSME projects and ecosystem development measures address other barriers to scaling CBG.

Policy support is separate from project sanction.

These are national scheme provisions. This website does not claim that a subsidy, pipeline grant or credit guarantee has been sanctioned to Kular BioEnergy. Applicable terms, eligibility and approvals govern each benefit.
